Some information about the site

A HOUSE BUILT AT THE FOOT OF FORT NAPOLÉON

The Domaine de Maison Blanche is not a place like the others. It is intimately linked to the history of Fort Napoléon, located just a few steps away. Formerly, this building was the home of officers responsible for managing the fort, stationed on the heights of Les Saintes.

It was built with the same materials, by the same workers, and during the same period as Fort Napoléon . This proximity is physical, historical and symbolic: here, each wall tells a page of the island's military past.

PRESERVED AND ENHANCED CREOLE ARCHITECTURE

The rehabilitation of the estate was designed to respect and enhance the original architecture . The project retained the typical elements of Creole houses : the red roofs of the Saintes , the dormer windows , the wooden shutters and the ventilated galleries .

Each villa captures the aesthetics of yesteryear , while incorporating modern comfort and understated elegance , while respecting the Caribbean architectural heritage.

A PERIOD CISTERN, WITNESS TO A DIFFERENT DAILY LIFE

The original cistern, which supplied the house with rainwater, has been preserved and restored according to the rules of the art. Today, it still irrigates the gardens and symbolizes the desire of the estate to preserve history while bringing it to life.

A PROJECT SERVING A LIVING HERITAGE

Driven by a passionate local team, the Domaine de Maison Blanche project was born out of a strong desire to revive a hidden gem of Saintes' heritage. Thanks to European funding (ERDF) and a deep commitment, the house has been restored to its former glory.
Each villa, each stone, each garden bears witness to a dialogue between past and present, between memory and modernity, welcoming visitors to a place steeped in history, meaning, and elegance.
